More HJ

Tuesday Morning March 21, 2006 12:33am
HJ was very happy with me holding her. Chris tried to hold her one or two times and she cried each time. This is very normal for the baby to only bond with one parent as it is emotionally difficult to bond with two people at once. She LOVES her mama though. She reaches for me and holds on tight when I carry her. We finally went down for dinner and she did very well. She ate lots of noodles and then some rice balls with sesame. We needed to exchange some money and she was in no mood for Chris to hold her, so I had to set her on the counter. When we came up to the room we tried for a bath. I drew some water in the tub and when we tried to put her in, there was no way. As soon as her feet hit the water, she drew them back up and screamed. I quickly handed her to Chris and she calmed down. I was able to wash her down some while Chris was holding her. She wasn't happy about me washing her, but she was happy with Chris holding her!!

He was able to hold her quite a while before we finally put her PJ's on. She still reaches for her clothes from the SWI, but is OK when I tell her no. Putting her to bed was a bit of a challenge. She did not want to go to sleep. I think she realized then that this wasn't just a visit for her to go home from and that she is stuck with us. I finally walked her around the halls and then came back and sat with her in my lap. She finally gave up and fell asleep around 9:00pm. Good thing as mama and baba were both falling asleep also.
One other thing, we got back the camera from the orphanage but they didn't take any pictures with it :-( Also, I forgot to ask about the other babies and give the package and pictures to the director, but we see them today for the registration so I will do so then.

I am having trouble uploading the pictures. I'll try again later. You can see them all on the flickr badge on the right. The wierd numbers are the picture numbers on my computer so I know what to upload.
