CP's mom passed away yesterday at 11:00am. It was not totally unexpected. She had fallen and broken her hip last week. She made it through surgery OK, but ended up having a minor heart attack. They put her in CCU, but after a day or so, moved her back to a regular room. However, they determined that she had Congestive Heart Failure. Since she had signed a DNR, plans were being made to move her to Hospice. She never made it.
Please pray for our family and CP's sister. We decided to leave the kids at home with my Dad (they weren't very close to CP's mom as they had only seen her a few times since we moved to FL seven years ago). AT is still at summer camp and a good friend will pick him up on Fri night.
I don't know how often I'll be able to post until I return home. No plans for the funeral have been made and it is unclear when I'll be able to return. This is stressful for me as I was supposed to start a new job on Monday. They have been VERY gracious and have offered to delay my start until 7/6. I just need time to figure things out.
