More information

I was able to get in touch with a family that adopted a 9 yr old girl from DJ's SWI this week. They brought their daughter home in January. Their daughter knew DJ and was able to provide some insights on him for us. This is wonderful information to have that will help us when we finally get him home. It will allow us to prepare before he gets home rather than being caught off guard.

Also, two families will be travelling over the next few weeks to get their sons from DJ's SWI. I am hopeful that I will get some updated info (and maybe a picture!) from them.

Orphan Statistics

Inter-country adoption has decreased 59 percent from its high in 2004, due primarily to restrictions by sending countries.
81.5 million Americans have considered adoption. If just 1 in 500 of these adults adopted, every waiting child would have a permanent family.
Every year more than 23,000 children age out of foster care, leaving them without families of their own.
