Our boys are 12 and 10. They are playing Player Pitch (Minors) baseball. During the practices, some of the other boys 12 down to 9, are goofing off, fooling around, shoving, pushing, stealing hats, punching others, dumping water on kids, etc.
I certainly understand some of the fooling around, but the hands on pushing, shoving, punching, etc. This I do not feel is appropriate. We have already talked to the coach and his opinion is "boys will be boys - they are just playing". If this behavior happened at school, the kids would be immediately suspended. Why is it tolerated on the ball field?
What would you do if your sons were getting shoved, pushed and punched by other kids on the team?
