I just got off the phone with our USCIS officer (who is WONDERFUL, by the way). Bottom line - we have to pay a second $720
It is still unclear if this is because we sent in the I-800 for our original referral and that was considered our "free" I-800 or if it is because we are adopting two at once and they are not related.
I know at least one person has told me that they had to pay $720 twice when they were adopting two unrelated kids at once. This doesn't make sense to me since it plainly states on the form,
"If more than one Form I-800 is filed during the approval period for different children a fee is required for the second and each subsequent Form I-800."
It even says the same thing in the I-800A filing instructions if you are filing a Supplement 3 for a change in the number of children. Anyway, I'll fork over the $720 in protest because we NEED our son home ASAP. I'll be curious to hear from others that have brought home two - at the same time or subsequently - what they ended up paying.

I'm so glad things are moving again. Thank goodness we can pray and ask for help. Think where we would be without the Lord's help.
We had to pay twice, reason given was that the children were not related. I agree though that wording is deceiving.
