A visit with my Sister

This past weekend, we decided to visit my sister who lives about two hours from us.  The original motivation for heading her way was to check out an artificial reef that sits just off the shore.  We love snorkeling, so thought this would be a great place.  Unfortunately, the wind was pretty strong on Saturday so the ocean was too rough to really see much.

After hanging out at the beach long enough to get really sunburned :-(, we headed to my sister's house.  There the kids chilled in her pool while CP and I talked with my sister.  The kids had a great time in her pool.  Later, we went to Pu*lix and bought pizzas and sodas for dinner and some milk and cereal for breakfast in the morning.

OMW!  What an eye-opening experience.  I hadn't been in Pu*lix in quite a while and was S-H-O-C-K-E-D at the prices!  I nearly passed out when a small Pu*lix brand pizza was $5 and cereal was $5 a box.  I am SO spoiled by Al*i's.  Now I realize she lives in an area where prices are higher than where we live, but this was just ridiculous!

Anyway, we enjoyed our pizza and then the kids went in the pool again.  They finally crashed about 9:00pm and we all enjoyed a restful night.

Sunday morning, we got up and decided to visit a different local park at an inlet to see what the snorkeling was like there.  Once again, conditions were not optimal.  The inlet area at that park is under construction and the lifeguard said that is where the best snorkeling is.  Oh well.  SG did get to see a foot-long fish (though we aren't sure what it was) and now wants to snorkel some more.  This was her first time and she did a great job.  Next time, we'll have to visit one of our favorite snorkel spots so we know we'll have good conditions.

Sorry for no pictures - I'll post them later
