I said "Uncle!"

Ok, not to be left out, last night TJ decided it was his turn.  I was inside taking care of some school stuff while most of the kids were outside playing.  AT comes running in the house yelling, "Mom!  Come quick!  TJ got hurt!"

So I race outside and see TJ laying on our driveway with his bicycle on top of him.  GW came down and moved the bicycle and I helped TJ get up.  He said his leg hurt and I could see a scraped up elbow and some other scrapes on his hands.  I helped him get in the house (JA offered to help but I declined) and to his bathroom (he couldn't put weight on his leg).  We cleaned up his elbow and hands and I looked at his shin.  Apparently, his pedal from his bike caught him in the shin and bruised it up pretty good.  He was continuing to complain that it hurt, so I told him to wait right there.

I went to the kitchen and got some Kid's Tyl*nol for him.  He took it with NO trouble (yea!).  Then I helped him back outside where he sat to watch the kids continue playing.  After a few moments, it was clear that his elbow really needed a band-aid also, so I went and got one and put it on.

I was then able to talk to the other kids to figure out what happened.  Apparently, TJ was racing down the sidewalk on his bike towards the ramp at our driveway.  He went up and over the ramp and caught some air.  Unfortunately, his front wheel came down first and his bike flipped over him and then landed on him.  I'm thankful he didn't break anything!

The best part of all is that this gave me a wonderful opportunity to "mother" TJ so he understands more of what being in a family is all about.
