The Way to a Boy's Heart

(aka Attachment - It Takes Time)

TJ told me earlier in the week that he hadn't been eating lunch because he didn't want noodles for both breakfast and lunch.  He told me he didn't like peanut butter, or ham or cheese (which is what our other kids usually eat for lunch).  He asked me to get him some more Chinese food.  So, yesterday, I took the kids to the Chinese grocery store. When we got home, I got a big  "Thank You, Ma" with an outstretched arm for a volunteered hug.

Don't miss that - a volunteered hug....

This is the same boy who would run from me just a few months ago when I tried to give him a hug.  Nine months after bringing him home, he is finally offering me a hug!   And it wasn't just a one time deal.  Tonight as I was leaving to take JA and AT to Boy Scouts, TJ said "Good bye!" and held out his arms for another hug.

One step at a time, but we are definitely making progress.
