I Won!

On 12/12, my company had their Christmas party.  As a part of the party, each family gets a ticket and they draw for various prizes.  Each time they called a ticket number, my kids made sure I was checking our ticket to see if we had won.  Each time, it was a different number.  Finally, near the end of the party, they called out another number.  It was ours!!!!

I was so excited, even though I had no idea what the prize was.  I had been talking to another employee shortly before and she told me she had won a $100 gift card to T*rget.  I thought that was a great prize - especially right before Christmas.  When I got to the admin who had called my number, she told me I had to go sit on Santa's lap to get my gift.  I thought, "Ok, whatever!"  and headed over there.  I sat down on his knee and he handed me the wrapped present.  I thought, boy, this is heavy and hard; definately NOT a gift card.  They took a picture or two and then Santa told me I had to open the present.

Ok.

So I did.

And to my shock, wrapped up in lucky red paper with a very nice bow

was an iPad!

I have been coveting wanting an iPad for a long time now.  I have seen so many apps that are helpful for education and especially for HJ.  But, I just couldn't bear the thought of forking over $500 or more for such an item.  So, I kept watching Cr*igslist hoping to see one on there for a reasonable price, but I never did.  I discovered that when most folks upgraded to the iPad2, that they gave their iPad to their kid/uncle/mother/cousin, etc.  So, not many used ones available.

But God is faithful and provided just what I wanted this time!
