Certificate of Citizenship (and other accomplishments)

Yesterday we received HJ's Certificate of Citizenship (CoC). According to Federal Law, HJ became a US Citizen when we landed in Detroit, MI. However, I had no way to prove it until yesterday. Now we begin the joy of navigating the Social Security office to get her a SS#.

On another note, HJ has started using the potty. Last Thursday, before we went on our first camping trip (another entry to come) she took me to the bathroom and sat on the little potty. A short time later, she had made a deposit!!! Not wanting to worry about this on the camping trip, we didn't bother much about it. When we got home Sun afternoon, she wouldn't let me put a clean diaper on her when I changed her. So, I got out a pair of training pants and that was it!! She has been using the potty (with a few accidents) since!!!!

I am suspicious that she was potty-trained when she was delivered, but due to all the turmoil, she was content to be in diapers. She certainly behaves as if she has been doing this for a while and knows exactly what to do!!
