A Blue Ladybug

We were at the baseball fields last night for AT's baseball game (they won 23 - 4!). While standing there, a BLUE LADYBUG landed on HJ's head!!! I couldn't believe it. I have NEVER seen a blue ladybug before and had to come home and google it just to make sure it wasn't something else.

For those not familiar with Chinese adoption, a lady bug is the de facto symbol of Chinese adoption. So a BLUE ladybug when we are adopting a SON is phenomenal!!!

Orphan Statistics

Inter-country adoption has decreased 59 percent from its high in 2004, due primarily to restrictions by sending countries.
81.5 million Americans have considered adoption. If just 1 in 500 of these adults adopted, every waiting child would have a permanent family.
Every year more than 23,000 children age out of foster care, leaving them without families of their own.
The average waiting child is 7.5 years old.
