Sunday Snapshot - Hangin' Out

My oldest and youngest "children". We got HB when we had been married just over a year. He was our "trial" for kids. He has been a wonderful poodle (yep - no fru-fru haircut for him) for the last 16 years! We worked hard to make sure he wasn't a one person dog like so many poodles and sure enough, he isn't. He LOVES company and will greet you with his rabbit hop run.

HJ came home 4 years ago and fortunately wasn't afraid of our 12 pound bundle of energy. It took a while for her to accept his kisses on her nose, but she accepts them willingly now and even asks him for them some times.

Inter-country adoption has decreased 59 percent from its high in 2004, due primarily to restrictions by sending countries.
81.5 million Americans have considered adoption. If just 1 in 500 of these adults adopted, every waiting child would have a permanent family.
Every year more than 23,000 children age out of foster care, leaving them without families of their own.
