I Love You!

This morning, the boys were emptying the dishwasher.  They weren't exactly cooperating nicely and were arguing and fussing.  After having to intervene one too many times, CP told them, "Ok boys, you need to sing the Barney song while you empty the dishwasher." 

You know...

I love you

You love me

We're a happy family

With a great big hug

and a kiss from me to you

Won't you say you love me too?

Now, can you imagine a (nearly) 12 yr old and 10 yr old boy singing the Barney song!?!?!  They did and did so happily!  It really changed the mood and the tone of the morning. 

I told CP I thought it was a GREAT idea and he admitted that he got it from one of our favorite books - Creative Correction by Lisa Whelchel

yes, the same Lisa Whelchel of Facts of Life fame!!! It is a great book and I HIGHLY recommend it.  It has tons of creative ideas (like the one above) for dealing with your kids.
