Getting better

Thursday Afternoon March 23, 2006 2:30pm
Today has been some better. We did not go with our guide and the Drakes to Teng Weng Pavilion even though we would have liked to. We felt it was best to stay around the hotel to limit the stimulation for MuXiang. This seemed to work. We took a very long walk around the lake with Hannah in her carrier strapped to me. She was very content and happy while we were out. My back needed a break, so we put the carrier on Chris. This did NOT make her happy. Normally, she is OK with Chris carrying her if I'm out of sight. Since I was very near though, she wasn't happy. We finally got scolded by the clothing police on our walk. Just once though. It's hard to keep her pant legs pulled down as they want to continually ride up. After a little while, I took her back and we finished our walk. When we returned to the hotel, she did not scream in the elevator like normal. She was very content. When we got back to the room, we snacked some and then she fell asleep on my shoulder while I was holding her. I sat down on the couch and she slept for about 1.5 hr. She has had a fever since Monday evening and this morning it seemed to have broken. However, after our nap, she was very hot again so I decided to go ahead and give her the antibiotics. I certainly don't want her to have an ear infection when we fly to Guangzhou. She has decided to look at a book we bought at Wal-Mart which has words in Chinese characters, pinyin and english. This is progress as she took the initiative to get it herself. She is walking around the room and looking at stuff. This is really the first time she has done this. I think we made the right choice today to stay around the hotel.
We also received Flat Stanley today. This is part of a school project for my nephew. You will see him in a couple of pictures.
I haven't had a chance to have the updated info on the Fu girls translated yet since we didn't go on the tour this morning. I promise I will get it translated tomorrow when we go to the notary to get Hannah Joy's passport. We may go down to the Bistro for dinner tonight; I hear they have good western food.
