Update on Dad

Fortunately, a good friend (and adoptive Dad!) is a Bariatric Surgeon.  I was able to get in touch with him this morning and discuss Dad's situation.  He did NOT recommend surgery at this time and volunteered to take Dad under his care.  WOO!HOO!  He does not practice at the hospital where Dad was at, so we transferred him to where my friend practices.

Dr. D was going to monitor him this evening, continue to do tests and see if we can work things out (pun intended!) without surgery!

Oh, and just to prove God is in the details....
Dad's nurse last night has lots of experience with obstructed bowels - her husband gets them every 6 months
When I called Dr. D's wife, she got my message and was able to return my call at the right time - despite spotty cell coverage where she was at.
She then had to call me back when she realized she had just given me her cell # rather than Dr D's. number.  The connection lasted just long enough for her to give me the new number!
The first surgeon said that it was miraculous (his word!) that we found a Dr willing to accept a transfer patient on a Saturday morning
Dr. D just returned from vacation Thursday night
Dad's new nurse went to nursing school in a small town about 30 min from where we used to live in NC

God is AWESOME!
