Happy Delivery Day! - Updated

Six years ago today, in a cold room in Nanchang, China, our youngest daughter was delivered to us.
(That's her in the orange and yellow)
She was not very happy about this delivery.  And who can blame her.  Her world was at the beginning of being turned completely upside down.  We had a lot of tantrums in the early days.  At the time, I didn't recognize it as grief (I thought she would grieve by shutting down!)  It was good that she grieved because it showed how much she was attached to her foster family.

That attachment has transferred to us now.  She is my helpful, cheerful, cuddly, little bundle of joy.

Yes, she is helping Grandpa put on his shoes and socks!

We call the day we met our adopted kids "delivery day".  Our bio kids were born and delivered on the same day.  Our adopted kids were born one day and delivered to us on a different day.  Hence, the term "Delivery Day!"

Our Story

Our church is doing a series on Changed Lives. As a part of this, they asked members of the church who would like to share how God has changed their life to share their story. I was blessed to be able to share our story. You can watch it here Changed

Logan

Logan is a waiting child with AAC Adoption and Family Network. He is a handsome boy with a wonderful smile. His birthday is 7/1/01 and he is listed as being deaf and mute. Having a brother who is hard of hearing, I am particularly drawn to boys with this special need. Please check out Logan

CCAI Waiting Kids

CCAI has a new waiting child list. There are a couple of older boys on the list who have captured my heart. The first one is the boy from Fuzhou (HJ's SWI). He is deaf, knows sign language and is described as "very nice, very helpful, and likes to eat chicken" by one of the girls from the orphanage who now live in TX.

Another boy on the list is from Urumqi (think Siberia!!!) He has Hep B,repaired bilateral club feet and an AWESOME smile!!!

Another Urumqi boy also has Hep B, a repaired hernia, and cataracts. He, too has a great smile!

Handsome Boy needs a Home

There is a very handsome 10 yr old boy from Fuzhou (not sure if Fujian or Jiangxi province) who needs a home. He is attending a school for special needs kids and knows sign language. Do you know someone who would be his family?http://www.chinesechildren.org/WaitingChild/Details.aspx?ChildID=3049

Another Waiting Child

Well, since we can't adopt another child right now, I have realized that my job is to advocate for those who wait. The little boy on my mind and heart now I have named "Happy". He is with Holt International and is 5.5 yrs old. To read more about him please click on http://www.holtintl.org/cgi/photolisting/index.cgi and he is listed as B06_145. He has been on their list for a LONG time. Do you have room in your home for this special child?

A Precious Waiting Child

A precious little boy has caught my eye and my heart. James at Adoption Associates is 2 years old and his SN is a BIRTHMARK!. His file is due to be returned THIS WEEK!!! I saw him on AGCI's list in 2005 and he STILL waits.

A guy I worked with had a Port Wine Stain in almost the exact same areaas James. He is VERY bright and quite handsome as is James. PLEASE check him out to see if he is your son!http://www.adoptassoc.com/international/waiting_children/index.php?country=China
